Project Description

Connecting everything – people, process, data and things.

Establishing their Galway offices in 2007, Cisco is now celebrating their 10th anniversary in the city. The bright, glass building is an iconic site on the R446 from Galway to Oranmore, and is a major innovation hub and R&D site for Cisco’s Global Collaboration business.

Cisco are the world leaders in switches and routers, and in the Forbes Top 15 World Brands of 2017. With a team of over 70,000 employees worldwide, they have truly become an unstoppable force in today’s ever-changing enterprise collaboration technology environment.

Cisco Galway offices are widely software based, with the latest project being Cisco Spark: a cloud-based, secure enterprise collaboration platform supporting calls, meetings, messaging, presenting and more. Languages used in development on the Galway site include Java, C++ and Python among many others.

Cisco Galway are known employers of NUIG interns and grads from degrees such as BSc. in Computer Science & I.T., BE. Electronic and Computer Engineering and HDip. in Software Design and Development. This year they also won the prize for #1 Medium Sized Company in the Great Place To Work Ireland awards. We are looking forward to having Cisco at Synapse 2017!
